We are going to start May 3rd with Friday and Saturday On-Demand service from 6pm to 11pm. This is a pilot program, if successful, we will develop more of this service. We will use our current vehicles we use for our demand-response. To begin with only 2 employees, one to take phone calls and a driver. We will limit the area of this service to approximately the area of our fixed route system, so we will only have one zone. We will charge $6 per ride per person, payment will be required before the ride is given. The driver will collect the fare. All rides must be arranged by phone before the ride. The driver will not arrange any changes. Reservations will not be accepted. One pickup and destination per call. We will develop our database to keep records of rides, miles, and hours in service for the On-Demand. These numbers will be part of our monthly reporting to ArDOT.
